Welcome
My name is, Shaneka Taylor. I am the 8th grade school counselor for LaVergne Middle School. In addition to providing a comprehensive school counseling program, my responsibilities include but not limited to: assist Building Test coordinator, 504 coordinator, LEA (Local Education Agency) IEP meeting designee, member of crisis team, assist students in crisis, parent engagement and provide RTI-B support.
I received my master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University in 2003. I received my bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and Services from Southern University and A&M College in 2000. I have been licensed as a Professional School Counselor with the state of Tennessee since 2014. I have been employed with the Rutherford County Schools since August of 2016.
