What are we learning?

The expectations of distance learning in social studies class. Using your Office 365 class notebook.

 

 

 

Why are we learning?

Students will be learning the expectation of distance learning in Social Studies and how to access the online class notebook that they will be using throughout the year.

 

 

II.  Task (Activities)

1)      Watch the Introduction to Social Studies PowerPoint video.

 

2)      Follow the directions shown in the PowerPoint and log into your Office 365 account.

 

3)      Find the class notebook for Social Studies and open it to familiarize yourself with the contents.

III.   Materials

-Introduction Powerpoint video attached in Kiddom and on teacher webpage.

I.    Objective/State Standard

 

What are we learning?

Using the acronym G.R.A.P.E.S., we are breaking down the 6 main parts of a civilization: Geography, Religion, Achievements, Politics, Economy, and Social Structure.

 

 

 

Why are we learning?

Students will be learning the expectation of distance learning in Social Studies. They will begin using G.R.A.P.E.S. throughout the year to identify the pieces that make up a civilization.

 

 

II.  Task (Activities)

1)      Open the handouts section of your class notebook. Open the file titled G.R.A.P.E.S. graphic organizer. Spend 5 minutes filling in the first column describing what you believe each word means. Complete this column before viewing the PowerPoint.

 

2)      View the PowerPoint titled G.R.A.P.E.S. and complete the remainder of the graphic organizer. There is one slide for each word.

-Graphic organizer in Office 365 class notebook

-PowerPoint attached to lesson plan in Kiddom

2)      Open the file titled β€œG.R.A.P.E.S. About Me”. 

 

 

3)      Complete the activity using information about yourself.
