Welcome to the 2020-2021 School Year!
To my students, I hope that everything goes great as we progress through an unusual year that is still full of possibilities. Lavergne Middle School's motto for this year is "382 Equipped," meaning that our school is prepared to help you become equipped to face the challenges ahead. For my classes, we have our own motto-- "Creativity Is a Universal Language." Whether through art, music, dance, writing, or any form of self-expression, we can all be connected to one another, be inspired by each other, and be renewed each new school day.
To the parents, I am excited for the opportunities to work with your students throughout the year, whether they are on LMS's campus for classes or using Distance Learning. Know that we are doing everything in our power to ensure equitable opportunities for both sets of students, creating cohesive classrooms out of atypical circumstances.

The Week of March 1, 2021:
This week kicks off Read Across America Week 2021, a time when all students are encouraged to show their love of reading. For my classes, we are beginning to read L. Frank Baum's classic fantasy The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, first published in 1900. The book has been adapted into several movies, cartoons, comics, and even some Broadway musicals! As we read this tale of adventure, our objectives we will be to be able to use the language of literature to discuss the story's plot, setting, and characters and how those things change over the events of the book.
All assignments for this week will be available on Teams for Distance Learners. For Monday, March 1st, all students will read Chapter 1 of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and answer the questions available on the assignment page on Teams (students will also find a link to the e-book version of the text on the assignment page). On Wednesday, March 3rd, all students will begin reading Chapter 2 and answer questions on its assignment page. Both assignments will be due by Sunday, March 7.
For Thursday, March 4, and Friday, March 5, there will be no new assignments for Distance Learners as they will be taking the WIDA Exam here at the Lavergne Middle School campus from 8AM to Noon.

In the second nine weeks of school, we will be transitioning to using Microsoft Teams for assignments, attendance, etc. for every class. To learn more about how to use Teams, please click here to read and watch the guides provided by LMS about using the platform.

Skyward is where you can check grades and attendance using your signed username and password. If you are having trouble logging in or have forgotten your log-in information, please contact the Lavergne Middle School Front Office at 615-904-3877.
Office 365
You can access your Office 365 account using the same username and password as you would use to log into computer on LMS's campus.
My office hours are:
